Family Road Trip Through the Mountains of Colorado with Volkswagen’s ID Buzz
They say, “show the work you want to get,” so I figured… why not create something bright, joyful, and rolling on four wheels? I called up longtime collaborator and creative co-conspirator Drew Bennett, and before long we were dreaming up a family road-trip adventure through the mountains around Breckenridge, CO. Naturally, we needed the perfect vehicle for the story, and the moment we saw the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, we knew it was the one.
From concepting and storyboarding to scouting, scripting, and casting, we built this project from scratch with the enthusiasm of two kids planning the ultimate field trip. Drew captured the motion and momentum of the day, while I focused on stills and guiding our wonderful family through relaxed, joy-filled moments that felt true to the experience.
The afternoon absolutely delivered: golden sunshine, sweeping mountain views, a playful family full of energy, and that irresistible sense of freedom that comes from hitting the road in an ID. Buzz. By the time the sun dipped behind the peaks, we knew we had created a visual story packed with warmth, laughter, movement, and heart.

Buckle up for a Colorado road trip bursting with big adventures and little wonders, all through the eyes of an adventurous 9-year-old!
The journey kicks off with jaw-dropping scenery as they dash through lush forests to find Isak, the giant wooden troll. Along the way, a recharge break turns into a mini dance party, complete with twirls and giggles! As the sun sets, the day wraps up with a magical kayaking adventure on a sparkling lake, creating memories that will last forever.
