Deer Creek Camp is a beloved summer camp tucked into the Texas Hill Country on the banks of the Medina River. A place where adventure runs wild and kids come home changed. Canoeing at sunset, zip lines over the oaks, bonfires under a blanket of stars. It's the kind of place that's easy to fall in love with, where forever memories are made.

In the spirit of full immersion, I bunked down on camp property to capture the full arc of a day there, which meant sleeping in one of the camper bunk beds. Let's just say the accommodations were cozy, the mattress was enthusiastically vintage, and I have a renewed appreciation for what these kids sign up for every summer…ahhh sweet nostalgia! No regrets.

The video side of the production was handled by Andrew Loehman of Lightbox Productions, an Austin-based video production company known for targeted, authentic storytelling across location and lifestyle work. Andrew has a calm, deliberate approach on set that complements the energy of a place like Deer Creek perfectly — unhurried, observant, and always finding the right moment.
